What word did you select to be your traveling companion in 2012 ? 

What gifts did this word bring ?

CHANGE .... Don't know that I chose it to be my traveling companion, but it was more about it just turning up in the middle of the journey.  For me it has definitely been a year of change.  A change in job, a shift in the way I feel about myself and a difference in the way that I do things.  This biggest change this year, for me, has been my growth as a person and how I see myself.  I still have a long way to go to get to where I'd like to be, but I feel that I'm moving along and not staying stagnant, which feels really good.

What word will you choose to guide you through 2013 ?  What do you hope it will bring into your life ?

MOTIVATION  .... This word just popped into my head while I was thinking about all of the Reverb 12 writing.  I want to be more motivated this year to do the things that I want and to have the things that I want in my life.  

I want the feeling of achievement in my life this year.  I want the feeling that comes from not giving up on something and working on it, even when it's not easy.  I know there will be times when I'm not motivated and that's okay .... but like falling of a bicycle .... I don't want to be the one that then gets up and walks alongside the bike, I want to be the one that gets back up, bloodied knee and all, and rides on into the sunset.

Through motivation I want this to be the year that I start and FINISH some things.  I'm good, great even, at starting projects and yet not finishing them ..... but this year, I'm determined to start and FINISH those things.  That is going to be a challenge.

I'm off to find a quilting class this week .......  the first of many challenges.  2nd on the list is to get myself a new (second hand) digital SLR camera and do a photography course.  Let the MOTIVATION and the challenge begin.
