Started walking this morning. Started my journey to riding in The Ride To Conquer Cancer in Adelaide in November
2014.
There has to be a start to
all things and this was my start. I have
set goals. At this point I have set
walking goals: starting at 1 Kilometre, and increasing to 10 Kilometres, over a
period of 10 weeks. I have also set a
goal to lose weight. I figure that small
goals are the way to go and all those small goals will get to my bigger
goal.
Part of me is excited and
looking forward to the journey, but another part of me is wondering if I can do
it or not. I am trying to listen to the
part of me that is excited at the moment as incentive to get going and do what
I need to do. I do know however that I am commited to doing this. Writing about my journey is, in part, my way of staying on track and remaining commited to the final goal. I have decided that when I think of the end goal, of riding over the finish line along with the others, and know that I have achieved what I set out to achieve I will feel totally awesome.
At this point it seems a BIG challenge, but for now ...... I will do it one day at a
time with one foot in front of the other.
