SOMETIMES THERE ARE NO WORDS ..... DAY 13 of BLOGTOBERFEST

Sometimes there are no words .....

I read a story today, a beautiful and touching story today about a boy named NOAH. His story has touched me deeply and so I would like to share it with you. Noah was a young boy with many issues in his short life, but I feel that his being in this world made such a difference to all who came in contact with him. Go here to read about Noah .... I'm sure his story will touch you too. Noah's story is not only about him, but is also about his special family.

Reading about Noah has made me realise that whatever we have to face in life we have the ability to do it. I am so blessed to have 5 healthy children and after reading this story will be forever grateful.

SOCIAL LITTLE CREATURES .....

MEERKATS .... such social little creatures. Fascinating to watch ... I could stand there for hours observing their behaviour. They are also exetremely curious little animals who love to watch what is going on around them. I find them very cute and quite funny. One of their curious behaviours is the way in which they groom each other .... this is done in order to strengthen social bonds. I find that very interesting. They are always in groups and I get the feeling without realising it they are very family oriented.

The meerkat up above looked like he was sunbaking in the nook of a tree.

IT IS SUCH A WORRYING TIME!

Have just heard that my brother is in a bushfire area in Victoria, Australia at the moment.... he is packing everything up ready to evacuate. His wife and son have left and my brother will leave as soon as he has to. I found out at the same time that a good friends sister is also in the same area and she too is getting ready to evacuate.

The whole bushfire situation has been awful because it is near where I used to live and many people that I know have been affected by the fires. I have been keeping an eye on the fires because my brother and daughter are near them. My daughter is fine, but now I find out today that my brother is right in the middle of a flair up.

It is such a worrying time! At this point my brother is okay, but I'm praying that he gets out okay and that nothing happens. If you believe in prayer then please pray for my brother and his family and my friend's sister and her family. If not could you please send out good thoughts to them that they may be okay.

CHRISTMAS IS OVER FOR ANOTHER YEAR

Christmas is already over. Doesn't the year go by quickly. I've already started filling up my diary and calendar for next year, which mind you is only 5 days away.

The thing I love most about Christmas is remembering the reason why we celebrate christmas. The fact that the Saviour came to earth so that we might have eternal life. I also enjoy being with friends and family. My family is spread all over Australia and it's nice to get the chance to talk to loved ones on the phone. I have my mum and one sister in Tasmania and a sister and brother in Victoria, living in different parts of Melbourne.

Christmas Day was busy, visiting one of my brothers and his family in the morning for a little while - then having lunch with my son .....who did most of the cooking, and a good job at that. We then went to other family for dinner. Last night we went and had dinner with friends and had a really lovely time. Our friends have a big family, and it was wonderful to share a meal with them. They also had their beautiful 6 month old grandson there and he is just so gorgeous.

Our church is having a young single adult convention over the new year period and there are about 450 young people congregating here in Adelaide, all set for a good time. When I was younger I went to the same convention and I had a wonderful time. Sometimes I wish that I could have those days back again.

On being a mother.

Lately my thoughts have been with my children and how quickly they have all grown up. I feel more aware than ever just how very short life is. It seems like only yesterday my children were young and had their whole lives in front of them....well they still have their whole lives in front of them, but they are no longer little and in my constant care. Yesterday they were 12 and 10 years old and today they are almost 25 and 27 years old. I did have one more child after this.......I feel I was so blessed to have 5 children....so very lucky.

I have been going through my photos and found this one amongst them all. I know they were that young once, but I just can't believe that two of these children are now parents with children of their own.

Children are such a blessing in our lives. They can bring heartache yes...that is just part of being a parent, but they are also the most wonderful and important part of our lives. For me having a family is probably the most important thing that I have ever done in my life.

I realise how precious it was to have this time with my children when they were little. As life has progressed and certain events have taken place in my life I have come to realise just how important loving, holding, hugging, sharing and enjoying your children is. I have come to realise how important families are.

Here's miss A (Sooooo cute - but then what mother wouldn't say that), the one not in the other photo who came along later. She will be 17 in a few weeks.........yeek!! 17 years old.....now that is scary, very scary!! She keeps reminding me of that fact often lately.

Someone asked me once in a job interview of all things what was the most rewarding experience I had ever had in my life and I only had to think for a second and said BEING A MOTHER...and I truly meant it.

When I found out that I was expecting my second child I wondered how I was going to love that child as much as the first. I didn't understand how I would be able to find enough love for both children. Silly me!!! I came to realise that as a mother our love just expands and expands to include all the children that we have......I know God made it that way.
