I've wanted to make soft toys for the longest time, but have never really been able to find anything that I liked enough to have a go. Finely yesterday I went to a local quilting shop and while browsing I found this book ............and I love it !!
The toys are just gorgeous ..... so nice. On display in the shop were some of the toys, which incidentally had been made by the sister of the lady who owns the shop. They are just so nice, really cute, and toys that I'm sure any child, or big kid (LOL !!) ... would absolutely love. I love the fabrics that have been used, so pretty and bright.
I have also been wanting to have quilting lessons and I found out that the shop has classes as well. I am craft minded and can sew and I'm sure I could teach myself, however, I do like the idea of having an experienced quilter teaching me, and giving me their tips for doing a better job. Apparently, according to my youngest daughter, my first quilting project is going to be a quilt for her bed. I figure that something so large might be a bit ambitious, but not one to shirk a challenge, I've decided to take her request on board. I think as long as the pattern is relatively simple I will succeed.
For your information the book is called ..... SEWN TOY TALES by Rosalie Quinlan and Melanie Hurlston and it is one of the nicest toy making books that I have seen.
