taking photos
capturing the moment
being in the moment
seeing life through the lens
true life

I want this camera
I wanted the Cannon 550d, but didn't get that and now they have upgraded to the 600d and I'm hoping to get together the money to get one soon

If you don't have a dream, how you gonna make your dream come true.
It's my dream to own this.

I've had the 600D for about a year now and I love it. Can't recommend it enough. That with my 50mm 1.8 lens has been a dream camera!

I have a 400D which I got second hand for about $400. Obviously a much older model, but it still takes nice photos. You can also get cameras a lot cheaper from Hong Kong and other overseas places. You don't get an Australian warranty, so that's the trade-off. But for example have 600D single lens kit for about $700.
Traditionally there has also been a new model in this line each year in January or February. Hard to know what will be improved though, so if you're ready to buy before then it's probably not worth waiting.
As mentioned previously, the 50mm f1.8 is also a fantastic lens to get at less than $150. I personally wouldn't want it as my only lens though - it's not very wide and so it's can be hard to fit groups, buildings etc. You'd probably need to be across the other side of the car park to fit the whole temple in, for example.

I've been praying (and saving) for the 550D too...still far to go for me, hope you can get yours sooner!
