COLDS .... guess it's the weather for them

COLDS .... guess it's the weather for them.  None of us like to have a cold, but there is not much we can do when they hit.  Thought that I was SAFE from colds this year, but not to be.

Bring on the paracetamol, cold & Flu tablets, nasal spray .... anything that provides relief.

I have to go to a 50th birthday tonight.  Now, don't get me wrong, I really really want to go, but all I feel like doing right now is up in rugging up in my bed, warm and comfy and either sleeping or watching TV.  I do find that if I stay in bed and keep warm, I seem to get better a lot quicker these days.

I like drinking hot lemon and honey drinks when I have a cold, as they really seem to help.  There is something comforting about this and I love the taste.

I also find that wearing a beanie keeps my head warm and keeps my whole body a lot warmer.  Somehow doing these things seems to help me get better more quickly.  They say that you lose a lot of heat out of the top of your head, so I figure that the beanie has to help.

A nice warm socks always seems to help as well.  I have been wanting to knit myself a pair of socks lately.  I've never tried doing this before, but I'm sure that I could have a go and manage to do it.  Hand knitted socks look so nice and I am inspired by Anna and her numerous pairs of socks, all hand knitted by her.  Hopefully I'll be posting a photo of a pair that I've knitted soon.

All I can say is that I hope this cold goes away soon.  I can deal with life a lot easier without it.

What do you do to help you get better quickly when you have a cold??

It's hard to dodge the lurgy bug this time of year with so much of it around. By the time I usually feel a cold coming on it's too late to fight it off so I succumb, try to rest, drink lemon & honey and take LOTS of drugs.

Hope you're feeling better soon.x

Hope you're feeling much better! I like to keep a hot wheat bag in my lap as I watch TV when I'm sick (well, all through winter really). I HATE getting cold! And having a cold too!
