SUNSHINE, CLEAR BLUE SKY AND LAWN BOWLS ... DAY 17 of BLOGTOBERFEST

Day 17 of Blogtoberfest and I'm still loving it !! It's great fun, somewhat of a challenge, but mostly gets the creative juices flowing to have to think of a new topic every day. I missed a couple of days, but blogged twice on the one day to make up for that. I'm really happy with myself for keeping on going even when I had a momentary lapse in what to write about.

These photos have been taken over a few weeks of going bowling ..... my favourite photos are taken of people and situation when they are focused on other things, not the camera. I like photos taken naturally. It somehow captures the real person and situation.

Bowling day with the disabled guys .... I love volunteering and helping them. I am always inspired by lawn bowling day and assisting these people. Even though they have varying degrees of disability they love to be there. They enjoy it so much. Nothing phases them.

One of the things that I love the most about them is the fact that they don't go there to win, although winning the game is a bonus for them, they go there to have a good time and really enjoy the bowling. It's a social event for them. They get out and enjoy each other's company. They encourage one another to bowl well and give each other encouragement .... it's great to hear them saying to one another "good bowl", even when it goes further than it should and misses the mark.

I always think we can learn a lot from people that are less able bodied and that's what I love about my paid work and volunteering with the disabled. They never complain about their situation, they just seem to get on with the job at hand.

Life is full of challenges for all of us ..... how do we handle our challenges? Do we allow our challenges to help us grow or do we have the 'woe is me' attitude?

It's not what we are given in life ... it's how we deal with what we are given.

I agree that Blogtoberfest is a good challenge to get the creative juices flowing! The people in your photos sure look like they are enjoying the bowling! I guess we could all learn from their attitude.
