FAMILY, FRIENDS, FOOD, FEELINGS AND FUN ........

Tonight is one of my favourite nights of the year .... Christmas Eve.
Since I was a small child, on Christmas Eve we have sat in front of the television and watched Carols by Candlelight from the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne.

Carols by Candlelight is an annual event on Christmas Eve, that is held to raise money for Vision Australia.
If you want to know more about Vision Australia
follow this link.

Thousands and thousands of candles held up in the air and waved from side to side.

Santa is always there to entertain the children of all ages.

Children sing by candlelight.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day, places to go, people to see, but it's good to know that there is family to share the day with.
Working in the morning
My great niece is being blessed at church
{ family }
Will see my brother, his wife and their two little children
{ family }
Then I'm off to deliver a meal to a friend
Then on to have lunch with my son and his girlfriend and family at her place
{ more family }
Then I'm guessing it will be back home again
to sleep and recuperate.
Most people seem to need to find time to rest and relax after a pretty busy week.
Christmas to me is about the Saviour and his birth first and foremost, and the gift that he is to the world.
Christmas is about giving: gift giving and giving of your time.
Christmas is about
Family
Friends
Food
Feelings
Fun

To all my blog friends have a wonderful day tomorrow ..... Have a wonderful Christmas.  Appreciate what you have.  Enjoy the time that you have with your family and friends.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
AND
A HAPPY NEW YEAR

CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE

These photos are courtesy of my neighbours front lawns. They go to so much effort to make them look lovely. It's nice to go out at night and just have a look. My 17 y/old D loves going to have a look at the lights.....they are very pretty.

Well it's only just over a week now till Christmas Day will be here. Some of us have already done our shopping, but if you are like me, well I just do it at the last minute. I admit it, I procrastinate. There are all kinds of jokes out there about women loving to shop, etc., but as for me I do not really like shopping at all. I'm not into the whole CROWD thing. Crowded shops and queues just don't do it for me. I'd rather be home relaxing in a chair. Although, having said that I do love the idea of giving gifts to others, just not going out in the busy world shopping for them.

Santas a bit blurry in this one, but oh well, thought I'd use it anyway....it still looks nice, even if a little fuzzy.

I do however love the whole Christmas thing. I love all the lights, the trees, the carols and the whole spiritual meaning of Christmas. To me it is such a beautiful season. To me it is also about families and being together.
I know some people don't adhere to the religious/spiritual side of Christmas, but for me that's the most important thing of all.
