First it was the floods and now it's Tropical Cyclone Yasi. Yasi was set to be as devastating as Hurricane Katrina, if not worse at Category 5. It's all pretty hard on the Queenslanders who seem to be copping the brunt of Mother Nature. Some Banana crops have been totally destroyed, but other than that the damage, it would appear, has not been as significant as they first thought and the Cyclone has been downgraded. Thank goodness for that. There will still be a lot of work to do to clean up the mess that has been left in it's wake. Mission Beach and Tully were the first to the hit by the Cyclone, but thankfully this is one of the less populated areas. Also some other of the worst hit areas are Cardwell and Innisfail. You can always always replace material possessions, but you can never replace human life.

Emergency services in these areas will be overloaded to the max. It must be so hard having to clean up after this type of disaster .. just as it was in the recent floods in Queensland.

All we can really do right now is the pray for these people, that their lives will get back to normal as soon as possible.
